Omaha, Nebraska is a city with renovation and redevelopment already in progress. In 2002 the Mayor announced a neighborhood parks and library renovation that is still active today.
Along with the parks and libraries of the city, many home owners joined in by beginning home renovations of their own. Some are synthetic and look exactly like the material they are replacing – wood, granite, marble and such. Others are natural materials that have been treated for longer wear.
From the fences that surrounded their homes, to the interiors, new products and modernization are brought in. Fence materials vary from wrought iron to vinyl. Lawns are reseeded and new plants and flowers are introduced into the landscape. Many homeowners have new exterior doors to replace older ones made dull by the weather or by use; doors that are frosted/stained/clear glass and wood, with or without wrought iron security doors in front of them A new coat of paint or new siding is being put up.
Kitchens in many homes are being revamped with new designs. The bathrooms are also undergoing modernization by getting rid of old pipes and leaking sinks and faucets. Family rooms are having new floors installed in hardwood, laminate flooring or carpeting.
